The Program Each year, one or more fellowships may be awarded by the Fellowship Committee
of the John Frederick Steinman Foundation to qualified persons seeking
advanced study in the fields of psychiatry, psychology or social work.
The fellowships may be renewed for a second year by the trustees upon
review of evidence of progress by the fellow in the course of study for
which the fellowship was granted. Eligibility The award will be available only to applicants in the fields of psychiatry,
psychology and social work, as follows: Selection Selection will be made by a Fellowship Committee on the basis of scholastic
record, personal qualifications, performance and future promise. A personal
interview may be required. The award winner will be announced by May 1
of each year. Obligation of the Recipient Fellowships will be awarded to those who have obligated themselves to
practice their profession within Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, or in
such other location serving in substantial part, residents of Lancaster
County as the Fellowship Committee shall approve. The number of years
each fellow shall be obligated to practice within Lancaster County shall
be at least equal to the number of years fellowship support is received. Terms of the Fellowship The amount of each fellowship may be $6,000. However, should an applicant
have other support, the Steinman award will be reduced by: Rules for the Winners During the time that the fellowship is in effect, the holder must adhere
